Sports moms need some time off too, and as all of you know and understand, time off the field or the court is hard to find. With two D1 athletes and another being recruited, I grab family time when I can. We literally scored only TWO weeks in 2023 where we could have all three of our kids together. As a former High School Head Principal, I know that a day in the classroom for my youngest wouldn’t make a bit of difference in his family memories. So, I pulled him out of school for a week to have quality time with his collegiate siblings. Guess what, the week together at the beach has proved to be one of their favorite vacations! Plus, the joy my husband and I found in watching their interactions was priceless. It took me a long time (recovering from my former profession;) to recognize that missing school was ok. But, I am thrilled to have my priorities in line to put our family’s unity as an important attribute. I might add, that if we can’t vacation, time at home together is always a win!
